Mitch Barrett was the first performer at Little Tree Acoustic on June 26, 2009, playing
the new Shanti guitar he won at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubadour competition
the week before. Mitch's performance was magical, with thought-provoking and moving original
songs written with a satirist's sense of wit and irony. He played guitar and dulcimer,
and after the break he offered animated and hillarious story telling that
had the audience alternating between laughing uproariously and nodding knowingly. Mitch
was the perfect performer to kick off the Little Tree Acoustic house concert series. We
look forward to his return to Little Tree in August 2010.

A wonderful surprise at Mitch's show was the unexpected appearance of accomplished
singer-songwriter and exceptionally skilled guitarist Karl Werne, who flew in from
Virginia. Mitch invited Karl to share the stage with him for much of the evening.
It was obviously a wonderful reunion for the two artists who shared personal stories,
new songs, and many laughs through the evening. It was an absolute treat for the audience!
